Found this ad in the Communication Arts magazine - Jan-Feb 09. Really liked the flow of the typography used and how the texture of it looks like fabric. The black background makes the advertisement standout. It is very creative and has a 3D look to it.
At first I didn't see the fabric look to this, but as i look at it more I like it. I just wish it had a little bit more pop to it, because right now it kind of bores me.
ReplyDeleteI agree, at first I didn't see the fabric look. That fact makes it more interesting. And also the fade of the words is very cool. I also agree in the fact that it could of popped a lot more, but it is different which is really cool.
ReplyDeleteI think the subdued look was done intentionally to draw the reader/viewer closer to be able to read the smaller text on the bottom and to see the "fabric" underneath. Of course, i could be wrong about this but this design DID make it into CommArts. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI like this example of illustrated typography. It's true that it isn't possible to see the fabric in the picture, but that has to do with the reduction of the image's size; the full-size image isn't as ambiguous.
